Fears of hospitals, needles, tokophobia to panic attacks and therefore ante or Pre natal depression can create an unpleasant pregnancy and childbirth. Clinical hypnotherapy incorporating cognitive behavioral therapy can produce better coping skills and therefore good mental health. Pregnant females consult with many variable psychological problems, especially ante natal depression, anxiety states, OCD, insomnia. It is well established that breaking up depression during pregnancy can significantly reduce post natal depression, and perhaps other mental conditions that could continue into post partum depression.
Post partum depression often dissipates within a few weeks after childbirth, however, there are many that suffer with post partum depression for months or even years. Using cognitive behavioral therapy techniques provides better coping skills on a day to day basis, but may well include bonding with her child, and interpersonal skills.
